Kairos is a Greek term for “favorable time” or “decisive epoch.” We believe that the time is right and that God is preparing the way for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine. A Greek term for “favorable time” or “decisive epoch”
The Kairos Document, written in 2009 by Palestinian Christians, speaks to the world about what is happening to Palestinians in their ancestral land after decades of living under occupation by Israel.
Out of this document was born Kairos Palestine, a movement which advocates for ending the Israeli occupation and achieving a just solution to the conflict.
Kairos USA (KUSA) is an organization of like-minded U.S. Christians who believe the time is right for decisive action to end the crisis in Israel and Palestine.
Kairos West Michigan is a member of the KUSA community. We began as a list-serve network originated by Rev. John Kleinheksel. With the help of Dr. Mike Spath, we began affiliating with the Kairos movement on July 8, 2014.
Kairos West Michigan envisions that West Michigan is a place where the realities of the Israeli-Palestinian situation are openly discussed, empowering people to positive action.
