Who We Are

Kairos West Michigan works to unify and mobilize West Michigan Christians to take a stand for peace in Israel/Palestine. Kairos is a Greek term for “favorable time” or “decisive epoch.” We believe that the time is right and that God is preparing the way for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine. The time is now—join us as we work towards a lasting peace.

The Kairos Document, written in 2009 by Palestinian Christians, speaks to the world about what is happening to Palestinians in their ancestral land after decades of living under occupation by Israel.
Out of this document was born Kairos Palestine, a movement which advocates for ending the Israeli occupation and achieving a just solution to the conflict.
Kairos USA (KUSA) is an organization of like-minded U.S. Christians who believe the time is right for decisive action to end the crisis in Israel and Palestine.
Kairos West Michigan is a member of the KUSA community. We began as a list-serve network originated by Rev. John Kleinheksel. With the help of Dr. Mike Spath, we began affiliating with the Kairos movement on July 8, 2014.

Our Vision

Kairos West Michigan envisions that West Michigan is a place where the realities of the Israeli-Palestinian situation are openly discussed, empowering people to positive action.

Our Mission

Kairos West Michigan is a Christian movement that educates and mobilizes people in West Michigan to promote a just peace in Israel/Palestine.

Your donation moves our mission into action!

The conditions faced in Gaza and the West Bank are a reflection not only of this particular conflict, but of wars unfolding throughout the world and throughout history.
